NO CHILD SHOULD START THE DAY HUNGRY
ABOUT OUR PROJECT
Chef de la Maison EST 1998 in Peterborough has been working on this exciting project since March 2024. The idea surfaced at The Allia Centre during a training course. Business Leader at Allia, Iain Crighton suggested the idea to Nathan of Chef de la Maison during a discussion about the positive impact of nutritious, local and sustainable foods.
Since that day the project has been progressing with testing breakfast products which will pass the test of nutritional requirements. Additionally we have established a logistical plan of daily delivery to every school in Peterborough.
We have completed the design and unique recipe of the muffin with a specially designed local- made -sustainable - Peterborough label.
The muffin has been designed to be baked daily, 1 day ahead of time with a delivery to each school 24 hours prior to each breakfast. The design and logical plan is ensuring that the products are delivered in an organised and measured way, so that a consistent pattern and system can quickly be established at each school. We understand that the schools are very busy and require such a service to comply with their schedules and systems
Compliance, we have selected a product which is low risk but high in nutritional benefits. No refrigeration required means the products can be safely contained and delivered for storage and distribution without the risk of many food products
The ingredient list is very small, structured to be sustainable, nutritious and homemade in Peterboroug
THE IMPACT
We believe that a nutricious breakfast provided consistently every day at school will have positive impact at many levels:
Government/ educational level
Children’s performances at school, improved exam results? Improved overall performances
Teachers
Improved mental health?
Families
Improved physical health
Children's behaviour improvements
Better attention spans
Opportunity Peterborough:
We believe peterborough should be the flag ship city to introduce this campaign and showcase our city as a leading City in innovation for our schools, prioritising educational performance, well being and nutrition
Pro active Peterborough -
Mental and physical health challenges are on the increase, wouldn’t it be a fantastic opportunity to share positivity during such challenging times?
Start with the schools and the connections flow to the families, work forces and institutions such as The NHS. Lots of positive impacts such as potential reductions in mental and physical health, improved well being, better educational performances and so much more…
The need to measure:
We would like to measure the improvements made direct to the school such as:
Exam results
Children’s behaviours
General educational performance
The views of the teachers
The views of the guardians of the children
