The super powers of garlic

If you don’t already grow your own garlic, I highly recommend that you do! If you choose not to, the good news is it’s ready available 12 months of the year in UK. Garlic is a true super food. Its medicinal properties help fight diseases and it’s super tasty and versatile. Roasted it’s sublime and cut finely and crushed and eaten raw it’s at its most powerful best for your mind and body. Prebiotic anti inflammatory properties, this beast of an ingredient is underused in my opinion.

If you have a tickle in your throat, crush some raw garlic, consume a clove or two and see the results. Far more effective than any cough medication or refined sugar loaded cough sweet!

At Chef de la Maison garlic is on the main menu and we grow it here in Peterborough at our community space. It’s a main stay of a power house ingredient. My daughters and I (my wife does not) enjoy fresh blueberries with crushed raw garlic as a quick nutricious side or a pulped smoothie base. It’s a tasty combination and a natural tonic to boost your immune system.

The allicin in the garlic is the secret weapon and it’s an absolute must have in your daily diet. I haven’t had a sore throat for as long as I remember either!
