Hospitality - behind the scenes

Behind the mask, behind the scenes, unraveling the layers of the hospitality industry may surprise you! The game changers and the difference makers are the hospitality team. Behind every event at Chef de la Maison we have craft bakers, caterers and chefs perfecting each and every product and dish. We have health and safety, admin and cleaning teams. But front end of it all, we have the hospitality team. Each and every step is essential but the hospitality has a role like no other. Often under estimated and assumed a low skilled occupation, however the customer experience depends greatly on the customer service. How we handle a customer experience not only effects the company’s growth, it effects the well being of the customer and full circle to the member of hospitality staff.

Hospitality is all about paying attention to the customer, listening, reading situations, body language, eye contact, smiles and being sincere. All expected at high speed, it truly takes a special set of skills and a special person to be a great hospitality provider.

At Chef de la Maison our hospitality definition is “to make our customers feel great”. That’s all it is, if we are not focused on this, we are wasting our time. The power to make someone feel great is an incredible thing, and something often miss understood in today’s high speed convenience market.

People demand high speed and customisation as standard service. But the next step is heavily reliant on the hospitality staff. The eye contact, the smile, the engagement…. Can we make the positive impact on our customers experience in 20-30 seconds whilst working in a busy, noisy and distracting environment? All of a sudden the job of a hospitality service staff doesn’t seem as simple. However, with the right training and matched personnel to the job and you can be the perfect match maker!

It’s where well being and wellness can be nearness and the buisness can benefit too! It’s so important and in many ways more important than the products themselves. Of course the products has to be exceptional but the hospitality needs to be magical. It’s a connection and a real currency which your business and wellbeing depends on! If you think about it, the hospitality we receive can have a real impact, a social impact!

We are very passionate about making positive social impacts at Chef de la Maison. Wellness starts in the kitchen and social impact is all about hospitality
